Snakemed and allergies – soothing with snake venom

For more than 30 years, the naturopaths Farid Zitoun and Christian Rüger in Bottrop have dedicated themselves to gentle medicine, just like their colleague Norbert Zimmermann (ret.) in Düsseldorf. The focus of this work is on healing methods that avoid stressful side effects with the aim of gently and positively influencing the diseased organism.

The profound experience and trust in expert treatments for both somatic and psychosomatic disorders attracts patients from Germany and other European countries to travel to the Ruhr region of North Rhine-Westphalia for therapy.

The feeling of being in the right hands is crucial for healthcare and requires an atmosphere of healing. At the Center for Naturopathy, taking care of this is a matter of course – this care is clearly noticeable and visible. In addition to the actual treatments, the facility is also geared towards creating an environment that conveys trust and security, and supports patients in knowing that they are in good hands.

Snake venom treatment in medicine: a complex mixture and fascinating renaissance

Snake venom therapy (Snakemed) in medicine is nothing new from a historical perspective and yet its use in medical treatment has received considerable attention and enjoyed a renaissance in modern pharmacology for several decades. As early as the 1950s, the antihypertensive drug Captopril® was developed, the molecular design of which was derived from the analysis of the venoms of South American pit vipers and tropical rattlesnakes.

Current studies, such as those conducted by the Vienna University of Technology (TU) Vienna, also demonstrate its medical applicability. Snake venom is a complex mixture of proteins, peptides and enzymes (originally pure toxin therapy). Diluted in homeopathic doses (administered on a suitable scale) for the Human organism, it can have a variety of positive effects on the Human body for different indications. For example, 50 different substances have been identified in snake venom, which enable different areas of application. While the bite of a venomous snake is undoubtedly dangerous and often fatal, the components of the venom can be used for therapeutic purposes in controlled, purified and homeopathic or very diluted doses.

Snake venom shows potential as a therapy for bronchial asthma, neuralgia and rheumatism, among others

Research, but also empirical medicine, shows that certain components of snake venom can offer potential for a variety of diseases. At the Bottrop-based naturopathic center, the focus for those affected is on a balanced therapy that can permanently free them from the debilitating illness and enable them to lead a normal everyday life – and not just a brief elimination of symptoms. In addition to skin diseases such as psoriasis and neurodermatitis, allergies and osteoarthritis, Snakemed also focuses on the treatment of chronic pain, migraines, ulcerative colitis, fatigue, Crohn’s disease, polyneuropathies and degenerative eye diseases.

Combinations of up to 40 different animal poisons (snake venom, toad venom, scorpion venom or spider venom) and homeopathic remedies in the form of injections are used alongside acupuncture to treat long-term chronic illnesses such as polyarthritis and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) in an individualized but above all targeted manner. As a practitioner in Germany with many years of expertise, every therapy at naturheilzentrum bottrop is always individualized and tailored specifically to each patient.

How is treatment carried out

Snake venom therapy – it’s all in the dose

The natural venoms of snakes, spiders, frogs, bees and scorpions contain valuable medicinal substances and active ingredients. Through careful preparation, strong (homeopathic) dilution, which is common in naturopathy, the aim is to provide gentle therapy by administering minimal, precisely dosed quantities. An extremely individualized use of usually 2 – 4 injections combined with acupuncture according to the nabomed®-concept are the minimal building blocks of the Snakemed nabomed® treatment.

How often is treatment carried out

A treatment concept initially consists of approx. 10 to 12 units. Ideally, these should be carried out consistently at a predetermined therapeutic interval.

Snake venom treatment for allergies, hay fever and asthma

The use of snake venom for allergies and hay fever has met with a great response from sufferers for good reason. In particular because instead of suppressing symptoms, a gentle, naturally immune-regulating stimulus is used.

The immune system, which normally protects the body from harmful influences or regulates itself again, reacts excessively strongly to supposedly harmless substances such as pollen, grass, animal hair, etc. in the case of allergies: Pollen, grass, animal hair, house dust mites and more.

The anti-inflammatory properties of the enzymes contained in snake venom aim to modulate overactive immune cells and dampen the immune response. Snakemed therapy therefore often provides supportive relief from allergy symptoms for many People and improves their quality of life.

Neurodermatitis, also known as atopic dermatitis, is often accompanied by itchy, inflamed skin rashes that occur in episodes. The lack of good skin sensation is usually difficult to bear for those affected and is associated with a great deal of suffering.

Snake venom is ultimately a rich source of various active ingredients, including enzymes and peptides, which have anti-inflammatory properties and should not be underestimated. These may help to reduce irritation of the skin and relieve agonizing itching. It has also been found that snake venom can reduce the excessive activity of the immune system, which plays a significant role in the development or worsening of atopic dermatitis.

Snake venom therapy for psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that is caused by overactive immune reactions and leads to reddened skin lesions as well as dandruff.

Experiential medicine shows that therapy with animal toxins is a possible treatment option, especially for patients who do not respond to or no longer respond to conventional therapies or who cannot tolerate them.

Among other things, snake venoms contain a complex mixture of proteins, peptides and enzymes that have anti-inflammatory properties. These properties can help to reduce inflammation and regulate the abnormal cell production that occurs in psoriasis. In addition, snake venom can improve skin hydration and strengthen the skin barrier, which is useful in the treatment of psoriasis.

Snake venom therapy for osteoarthritis & rheumatism

Snakmed or snake venom contains a number of potent active ingredients that are said to have anti-inflammatory properties, for example, and can therefore help to relieve pain. For diseases such as arthrosis and arthritis, which are almost always accompanied by inflammatory processes, the homeopathically diluted use of animal venoms is an option and treatment alternative in empirical medicine.

The approach is to use the antiphlogistic properties of snake venom not only to relieve pain, but also to reduce inflammatory reactions in the body.

Snake venom therapy – immune-regulating stimulus instead of suppression of symptoms

The Snakemed treatment is based on more than three decades of intensive work at the Center for Natural Healing Methods. This with a constant exchange of experience, especially in the therapeutic use of animal venoms, with the esteemed and friendly colleague of the Naturheilpraxis Norbert Zimmermann (ret.), first in Bottrop, Mülheim an der Ruhr, later also Düsseldorf.

In particular, we are united by our shared commitment to consolidating alternative approaches to improving the quality of life for our patients. Today, snake venom therapy is a complementary natural and proven treatment option that is used by many patients due to its extremely effective application in the treatment of skin diseases such as neurodermatitis and psoriasis, as well as chronic diseases such as osteoarthritis and rheumatism.

Highly diluted snake venom, which is used in Snakemed therapy, is rich in enzymes, peptides and other bioactive substances. These complex structures are said to have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. Experience shows that the active ingredients in homeopathic potency can help to reduce inflammation, relieve itching in skin diseases and ultimately improve the symptoms of rheumatic complaints.

This goes hand in hand with an improved quality of life for those affected, but above all offers a tolerable and gentle alternative.
