Dear Friends and Guests,

Once again, there were numerous encounters with you – filled with warmth, love, and appreciation. You are the ones who give us the ambition and boundless strength to do our best and much more every day. To stay more on the ball, to progress, and to be sustainable in terms of health and lifestyle. Our goal: to get ahead in the game, so that you can experience, see and read the facts and tips in the mainstream media ahead of time. In doing so, we are also restoring your confidence in us.

Health and lifestyle to go – that’s our motto. Up-to-date health tips with added value for everyday life. Helping you boost your health is a goal which we are happy to make every effort for and spare no expense. We’ll definitely top 2019 again, in any event. And we’ll achieve this, despite the fact that we have already put a lot of effort into this year. Speaking of which, here’s a quick look back at what your health experts, Farid Zitoun and Christian Rüger experienced in 2019. Have fun!
The year began – with the garbage man
The environment, climate, and nature conservation are more important than ever. In everyday life, many of us want more possibilities to actively do something for the good of our planet. In fact, each of us can accomplish this – and at the same time do something good for our own bodies! The nabo institute’s managers, Farid Zitoun and Christian Rüger didn’t do too badly in their role as garbage collectors, and they showed how you can combine environmental protection and health: Plogging is a magic word that combines jogging with a good deed for the general public. Those who collect and dispose of garbage that is discarded along their running routes, will beautify the landscape and keep fit. It’s not just a great way to keep you warm and fit on the cold days of the year, but it’ll also be a (your) valuable contribution to environmental protection.
A beacon in spring: Naturheilzentrum Bottrop – the new trailer for the YouTube channel
nabo is entitled and committed to always pushing the limits of what is possible. To carry on for you where others might give up. And at the same time remaining realistic, but always hopefully optimistic. This is also reflected in the new trailer, which we published on the Naturheilzentrum Bottrop YouTube channel in spring and which now welcomes you on the channel’s homepage. Practical tips in the areas of health and lifestyle –Personally presented by Farid Zitoun and Christian Rüger, of course. Plus lots of tips and useful advice for your everyday life. Experiencing Health 2Go.
Fact check – in the summer heat we made it clear: Is vegan food really healthy?
Summer really made every one of us perspire. However, it didn’t prevent the two naturopaths, Farid Zitoun and Christian Rüger plus their staff from asking a question for you; what influence can a vegan diet have on your health? Not least because the idea of completely dispensing with animal products somehow seems tempting after the festive season, when the consequences of overindulging add inches our hips for some time thereafter. For many, the negative effect of meat on the climate is also now a reason to refrain from animal products. But is being a vegan healthy in the long run? Zitoun and Rüger clarify this!
Important in the dark season: Optimal eye health
Your eyes will be placed under particular strain when the nights are long and dark. Pernicious eye diseases such as presbyopia first manifest themselves when light is poor, and therefore require everyone to maintain high awareness of their own eye health. Statistics and studies show that undiagnosed eye diseases can have fatal consequences, especially in old age. This makes the question of how you can counteract this all the more important. The Youtubers and lifestyle bloggers, Farid Zitoun and Christian Rüger explain what will do our eyes good – and not just in winter.

Incidentally: Doing something good for yourself is especially important when it is cold and dark outside. Here you’ll find a very simple but superb recipe tip that will warm the heart, even on the darkest days. Have fun and bon appétit – see you by 2020 at the latest!
Beetroot coconut soup:
Ingredients for four portions:
- 100 g red onion
- 50 g fresh ginger
- 500 g beetroot (pre-cooked)
- 1 organic lime
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 2-3 tsp red Thai curry paste
- 800 ml vegetable stock
- 1 can of coconut milk (400 ml)
- 1 bunch cilantro
- Salt and green pepper (freshly ground)
Sauté the diced onions in coconut oil until translucent. Then also sauté the sliced ginger for a short while, add the curry paste, and fry until brown. Pour in the vegetable stock and bring to a boil. Dice the beetroot, add to the mixture, and simmer for five minutes. Then finely puree everything. Add 300 ml of coconut milk (shake well beforehand) and heat together. Hold the cilantro briefly under running water, then shake it dry, and chop. Now wash the organic lime and season the soup with the juice, the lime zest, salt, and pepper according to taste.
