We all went through and are going through difficult times together. Sometimes this almost makes us forget how beautiful life actually is. It is all the more important that we look to the future with courage and confidence, but above all with motivation. To appreciate all the positive things that life has to offer each and every one of us. The French writer Colette once remarked: “What a wonderful life I have had! I only wish I had realized it sooner.” This sums up for her what is always (and perhaps especially now) so important: to be open to the small joys and to stretch our heads toward the sun. To greet each day from the heart with its wonders, its many surprises with a smile! This not infrequently means the creation of very Personal happiness through a small change of perspective.
Germany and the world – land of smiles
Wouldn’t it be nice if more People would once again remember the seemingly old-fashioned and outdated values that make living together so much easier, simpler and more pleasant? May it be something warm for the soul?
Something warm is what man needs, not only in winter. With today’s recipe tip you get a really soothing soul warmer for every season. A bowl of porridge (recipe by BIOSpitzenkoch Konrad Geiger) tastes just as good in the morning to start the day as it does after a long walk in the winter sun!
Recipe Tip: Porridge
Ingredients
- 250 g oatmeal small leaf
- 400 ml oat milk or whole milk
- 150 ml coconut milk
- 100 g raisins
- 1 tsp dried cranberries, chopped
- 80 ml syrup (maple or sugar beet syrup)
- 2 tbsp almonds coarsely chopped
Preparation
Put the oatmeal in a saucepan and toast lightly over medium heat until fragrant. Add the milk, coconut milk and the raisins and switch to low heat. Let the porridge simmer gently for about eight minutes and only then stir in the cranberries. Divide among four bowls, drizzle with maple syrup and almonds. Tip: Roasting the oatmeal gives a hearty flavor that goes very well with coconut milk. In addition, the oatmeal remains nice and firm to the bite.

Snakemed in naturopathic practice – snake venom therapy for the immune system
Speaking of the immune system, did you know that 2022 was a year with an extremely high pollen load? This was not only due to the drought, but also because we had what is known as a “mast year” in which certain tree species were able to produce pollen (and fruit) in large quantities. These “fattening years” get their name from the once common practice of sending pigs into the forest to fatten up when chestnuts and acorns were particularly abundant. Unfortunately, they are becoming more frequent thanks to climate change.
