Reflecting on what is really important
More time for you, more time for us!
Dear friends
dear patients of the Naturheilzentrum Bottrop,
dear followers and nabos!
For us, the time between the years is always a very special time. Suddenly life seems to take a gear out. We go into ourselves, look back on the past year and inwardly already prepare for the next.
Many People make good resolutions that they want to implement in the coming year. According to statistics portal statista, the top five spots on the hit list for 2021 looked like this:
- Eat healthier
- (Exercise more)
- (Save more)
- Act environmentally conscious
- (Make more) time for family and friends
Those are pretty good ideas for 2022 too, right? If you are one of those People who like to make resolutions, there are a few things you should keep in mind. For instance, it also depends on how you write your resolution. Then your goals should be realistic and achievable, because otherwise good resolutions quickly degenerate into stress – and we don’t want that right now! It’s better to take small steps, one after the other, than to take the big leap right away. That’s why it’s also important to stay relaxed when things don’t go as planned, because: Tomorrow is a new day – also for the good resolution ..
This year, we’ve been updating you again on our website, at YouTube and Vimeo about many topics that are close to our hearts and serve your health and sustainable lifestyle. As always in our newsletter at the end of the year, we would like to briefly review them..
Beautiful skin with natural cosmetics
A very good resolution for all of us could be to feel even better in our skin next year. With natural or organic cosmetics, we can get one step closer to this goal. Natural cosmetics use vegetable fats instead of mineral oil components and come with less or even completely without animal testing. Whether it’s decorative cosmetics or face cream, it contains no nano-particles made of plastic or metal that can enter the body through the respiratory tract or injured skin, spread and accumulate in the body, or pollute the environment. With organic cosmetics, the main ingredients are additionally organically grown, and synthetic sprays and fertilizers are not used. If you want to read more about the advantages of natural cosmetics, we recommend this article at Oekotest.
Have you seen our brand new video on the YouTube channel of the Naturheilzentrum Bottrop? Among other things, we show you how natural cosmetics can support your Personal wellness program and how you can easily make a refreshing face mask yourself.
By the way, you should also make sure to protect your skin from UV radiation in winter. You don’t always have to apply sunscreen – certain foods protect your skin from the inside!

In Germany, about 1.7 million People live with a cancer diagnosed in the last five years. This is a rising trend, as our society as a whole is getting older. Many sufferers want to know if there are alternatives to chemo, radiation & Co, if there are naturopathic procedures that can heal or help. In our news article on the subject, you will learn how naturopathy can complement traditional medicine and where its limitations lie.
Our guest authors Monika and Wolfgang Frontzek know that many naturopathic methods can significantly improve the quality of life of cancer patients and their relatives. In the NaBo blog, they tell how they regained their zest for life after chemotherapy with naturopathic support.
Fit and healthy: always keep moving!
“Panta rhei”: that everything flows was already known by the Greek philosopher Heracles. But what about your joy of movement – is everything flowing there, too? Moving more could be another good resolution for the next year. Most Germans have become couch potatoes in the pandemic. That’s the conclusion of a study by Frankfurt’s Goethe University. And the German Diabetes Society recently reported that more than half of all Germans exercised less during the pandemic and gained quite a bit of weight. The following applies: Those who exercise regularly, even in everyday life, not only feel better, but also stay healthy and fit. By the way, this applies to all age groups, including and especially senior citizens. In this News article, we get to the heart of what exercise can do for the elderly. In addition, our guest author and care expert Kerstin Pröse tells us in the NaBo blog on the topic of “Fit in old age” what great effects exercise has on the People she works with.
Superfood: We share our veggie favorite with you
Carrot, yellow beet, carrot, root: these are just four of the many names by which the vegetable plant Daucus carota is known in this country. We say carrot to our favorite vegetable, which not only accompanies us as a “running gag” through all our videos, but is also a welcome guest in the kitchen. We love carrots not just for their eye-catching color, nor solely for their earthy-sweet scent. We love them first and foremost for their intrinsic values. Carrots perk up tired girls, they fight anemia, boost the immune system, and promote milk production in nursing mothers. Of course, they are healthiest raw, but we also enjoy them very much as a simple yet refined soup.
Our recipe for you: Carrot soup with ginger
Ingredients:
- 700 g carrots
- 1-2 onions
- 1 walnut-sized piece of fresh ginger
- 1 chilli pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 600 ml vegetable stock
- 200 ml coconut milk
- Some coriander greens, salt and pepper
Preparation:
First, peel and chop the carrots and onions – dice the onion and chop the carrots. The ginger is peeled and chopped, the chili pepper halved, seeded and also cut into fine pieces.
Sauté the vegetables in a little oil or butter for about two to three minutes. Once the onion is translucent, add the curry powder and sauté for another two minutes. Add the vegetable stock and 150 ml of the coconut milk and simmer for about ten minutes over a medium heat. Then puree the soup with a hand blender and season with salt and pepper. Shortly before serving, it is decorated with the coriander greens and coconut milk.
If you prefer your soup chunkier, you can add diced kohlrabi, sweet potato or pumpkin to the soup after pureeing and simmer for about eight minutes. Enjoy your meal!
Work-life balance: “Me me me” instead of “Mimimi”

We will use this time to develop new ideas and content for you and for us. For you, our friends and patients, we are of course as always with all our strength and wholeheartedly there! And in 2023 we will continue with many exciting video ideas ..
